Postcards
Postcards are here! If you didn't place an order but would still like to purchase postcards, we have some extras. Postcard costs are $6.00 per artist per each 100 cards ordered. We ask that each participating artist order and distribute a minimum of 100 postcards advertising the event.

If you were unable to pick up your cards at the artist mixer, cards can be picked up at my office located at:
44 McLea Court, which is off of 9th street between Bryant and Harrison Streets.
Please email me if you would like to order additional cards, or to arrange pick up.

Posters
A free downloadable PDF file of the 24"x 36" poster advertising the weekend event with the map is available.. Artists' venues are encouraged to print out this poster and post it outside of your venue so that the visiting public can easily identify you as a participating artist.

Website
All participating artists are featured on the SOMAOpenStudios.org website, along with a link to your own website if applicable. SOMA venues that have a website for their groups will also be featured. There is no charge to artists to be featured on the SOMAOpenStudios.org website. Be sure to feature the Spring open studios event on your website or blog with link back to us.

Important Spring Open Studio Deadlines and Dates

SOMA SPRING OPEN STUDIOS PREVIEW EXHIBITION

Location: Arc Studios & Gallery, 1246 Folsom Street, San Francisco, CA 94103
Reception: Friday, April 9th, 7-10PM / Public Showing: April 10th, 12 noon to 6PM

Hanging: Thursday, April 8th 11AM-2PM & 6PM-8PM
Take-Down: Saturday, April 10th 6PM-7PM & Sunday, April 11th 11AM-2PM

ARC PREVIEW EXHIBITION POLICIES

The Preview Exhibition is open to all SOMA artists participating in Spring SOMA Open Studios.

One piece of artwork may be displayed by each artist, with 22" x 22" being the maximum size for hanging on wall. There are limited flat surfaces available for 3-dimensional artwork, and 3-D artists may need to supply their own pedestal. It is the artists' responsibility to supply their own tools and materials for hanging and take-down. along with a typed self-adhesive 2" x 4" label or 2" x 3.5" business card to adhere to the wall next to your piece. The artist's name, artwork title, medium, and price should be noted on the label.

All artwork will be offered for sale, with 100% of the sale to be given to the artists - Arc will accept cash or check for payment. Sold artwork may be picked up by the purchasers during take-down hours.

To offset the exhibition & reception costs, a $15 fee is requested from each participating artist, to be paid at the time of hanging.

All artists are encouraged to attend the reception on Friday evening.

SOCIAL NETWORKING

Past publicity for our open studios has been good, but we are always looking for ways to improve our coverage and public awareness of visual artists in our neighborhood. Did you know that SOMAopenstudios has a twitter feed and a page on Facebook? Be sure to follow us and become a fan on the Facebook page. We are planning to augment these media outlets and hope to feature different artists from SOMA in the future. We are looking for new ideas and artists who would also like to help us publicize these events.

Are you such an artist? Would you be interested in hosting a networking event for artists in the area to brainstorm ideas for publicity? We plan events every 4-6 weeks at different venues around SOMA for artists to get together. If you are interested in putting together an event, send an email to: Mike@SOMAopenstudios.org.
